The midwives were absolutely amazing - very professional, respectful and attentive throughout the entire process.
Cristina Birth Story, Garcia da Orta, Almada
At 41 weeks, I was strongly pressured to induce at Cascais Hospital. I wanted to wait a few more days. With normal CTGs and ultrasounds, I didn’t understand the urgency
Ana, Cascais Hospital (2024)
Hannah was born in the water at 6:15 a.m., and I was able to catch her myself. Once out of the bath, the placenta came quickly, and we kept it attached for another 2 hours (a half-lotus birth). Hannah latched on quickly, which also helped minimize blood loss. In the end, I had an intense but very beautiful home birth in the water, without any interventions and completely on my own strength. I’m so proud.
