I am Filipa, Luz’s mother—it was motherhood that sparked an even greater desire in me to support and care for other women and families. I am a Specialist Nurse in Maternal and Obstetric Health, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and a career dedicated to supporting women, mothers, and babies. I am also a Postpartum Doula, Lactation Consultant, and Hypnobirthing instructor. Over the years, I have deepened my knowledge in breastfeeding, the postpartum period, birth preparation, and natural, individualized care. My Master’s degree in Palliative Care profoundly transformed my view of caring: it taught me to see each person in their uniqueness, respecting their own pace, choices, fears, and needs. I view birth—much like the end of life—as a moment of profound transformation that deserves presence, respect, and humanity. I am passionate about nature, its cycles, and the ancestral wisdom of the women who came before us. I believe that every woman should be able to experience childbirth with information, confidence, and a sense of agency, while having her choices respected and receiving safe, empathetic support.
